Distance matters more than anything else. A server in a neighbouring country is usually faster than one across an ocean, whatever the server count says. The app shows live latency in milliseconds beside every location, and the built-in speed test measures the connection you actually get.

The protocol works there, but on fewer servers than usual — because of maintenance, capacity, or local network conditions. You can still connect. If it feels slow, switch protocol or pick a nearby country.

Some locations do not support every protocol, usually because of the local data centre or the rules that apply there. WireGuard is available almost everywhere and is what the app uses by default.

The server runs entirely from memory with no hard disk. Nothing about your session can be written down, and everything is erased the moment the server restarts. It is the physical backing for the no-logs policy rather than just a promise about it.

The country whose catalogue you want, and the nearest city inside it. For live sport, a city near the broadcaster tends to be the most reliable. If a service does not load, disconnect, pick a different city in the same country, and try again.
